party all night and sleep all day

Hello Hello
This past week has been a blur! Sometimes I feel like I'm just living for the weekends now. Friday night was a night out with friends, and yesterday I saw one of my good friends get married - how old do I feel! It was a beautiful ceremony though. I've been doing some shopping here and there but I just can't seem to find anything in stores that I like right now, maybe my style is just in a bit of a rut right now? I need some fashion soul-searching hah!
I know, I've been putting up so many nighttime shots lately:

My best friend T found the nerd glasses in her purse, and I decided I absolutely had to wear them for the rest of the evening. Today I'm heading over to the Art Gallery of Ontario to take in the Surrealism exhibit! Hope you all had a lovely weekend xx

she likes electro, she love hiphop; she like the reggae, she feel punk rock

Hey Loves!
Very full weekend of going out, having a girls night out, seeing movies and celebrating father's day. (Love you Daddy, hope you liked your new socks!)
I picked up the latest Black Eyed Peas album, and I really have to encourage everyone to go get it! I loooveee BEP (I might even go so far as to say I'm their biggest fan) and I'm also really into electro music, and this new cd is the best fusion. Check out "Rock That Body" and "I Gotta Feeling"

Also, the most beautiful Rodellee interviewed me as the Blog of the Month for her awesome site Adorevintage.com, which was such an honor considering I've been a fan of both Adorevintage and her personal blog for so long. Here's a few of my answers:

We love your style, it's sort of a mix between edgy, girlie, vintage, and new wave... so we're wondering who are your style icons?
My style is a bit all over the place, I have a hard time defining it! Icons are definitely Ashley Olsen, Dree Hemingway, and right now I'm loving some of the outfits that the Cobrasnake photographs (hello Tallulah Morton). I draw most of my inspiration from magazine editorials, designer lookbooks, and random images that I see on a daily basis, including some fashion blogs.
Other than blogging, what other things do you enjoy doing?
Of course, I enjoy shopping. Hunting around in vintage and thrift stores is my favorite, because its so rewarding when I score an awesome piece. Other than that, my life consists of drinking a lot of coffee, reading (I'm specializing in English at university), travelling, going out to new clubs and bars, practicing yoga and going to movies.
Last place you traveled to?
I recently returned from an amazing weekend in Montreal. The city is incredible, perfect mix of Canadian downtown with hints of Europe everywhere. Next stop for me is London, England in a few weeks, and hopefully Boston later in the summer.
Your hair and make-up always look flawless, other than apparent good genes, what are some of your beauty secrets?
I owe everything to my mother who has perfect skin, without the use of Botox or fancy creams. I'm afraid genes really are the answer for me. I don't take very good care of my skin (I'll go for days without taking off my makeup), but I am addicted to face lotion, and I never go to bed without applying a thick night cream. I think that, as cliche as it sounds, moisturizing and drinking water really are the keys to good skin. I never leave the house without sunglasses on during the day and I don't suntan - I'm all about wrinkle prevention. And for hair, I don't wash it too often (every other day at most) and always let it dry naturally. My beauty regime is pretty low key.

she was a hip, hip, hip lady, man

Hey Loves
This weekend I went to Montreal. These pictures were taken walking home in the early, early morning on Saturday. I found the rose in the bar, all fancily wrapped up and took it. Probably killed some guys game who was planning to give it to a lady friend. Oh well.
I opened my suitcase, only to realize that other than a pair of jeans, I'd packed only men's clothing. Chris and I spent the weekend drinking, sleeping in, hitting up kitschy diners for breakfast, dragging Christopher all over the city to shop (visiting many stores that you guys recommended, thank you SO much), walking till my feet were bleeding, eating incredible Lime-Citron Tarte, wearing silly sunglasses, watching hippies in the park, and falling in love with Milla Jovovich and Matthew McConaughey in Dazed and Confused, (though I'm partial to Slater and his revelations).
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend too! LOVE.

p.s. A while ago I got an email from the lovely Maria over at Chicisimo asking if she could feature some of my looks occasionally. Well, now Chicisimo has a brand new look. It's an awesome site for inspiration, and allows positive commenting only, so check it out!

pink floyd - the wall

Hey Loves,
I write this while eating Mike and Ike's (only the cherry. the oranges are for dad, the rest my mum eats) and procrastinating on packing. Tomorrow I go to Montreal for the weekend to visit my very best friend Christopher who I haven't seen in a very long time. I already asked the lovely Stephanie for her shopping hot spots, and if anyone else has any favourite stores / areas / restaurants in Montreal, I'd love to hear them!
I mentioned the awesome vintage event I went to downtown a few weeks ago, and these shorts are my favourite purchase of the day:
This pink wall was just so fun, I couldn't resist taking pictures next to it. The bracelet was my godmother's who gifted it to my for my 20th, probably my most prized possession now. Wearing a Lola's room tee, vintage shorts and target shoes.
Have a great weekend! Love xx

it was 20 years ago today...

Hey Loves!
Well, I had an incredible birthday weekend! I still can't believe I'm not a teenager anymore. I feel so OLD, like all of a sudden I need to turn into this wholly self-sufficient, responsible human being, and let me tell you, I am far, far from that.
The pictures from my birthday party on Friday night are horrid, and totally not appropriate for this blog, but here's a few.

(Half of the table, I kindof ruined this one, but I was starving)

Makeup done by Selam at Holt Renfrew on Bloor St (if you ever want your makeup done, she's incredible), private dinner at Sassafraz in Yorkville with my closest darlings, scallops, red wine, London Taphouse with other friends, tequila, McDonald's hamburger and finally, sleep. Spent my real birthday getting chocolate chip pancakes, going to Value Village and Indigo and then dinner with Mum and Dad at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.
Wearing a tutu blu dress, thrifted blazer, Aldo wedges and NARS lipstick in Schiap.
LOVE xx

your lyrics are dumb like a linoleum floor

Hello Loves!
It is late and I've had a very busy day but I wanted to update quickly! A lot of you were asking about the new Zara blazer so I took a couple snaps of what I wore to work on Monday:

There are about a million more things I want to pair it with than just leather leggings, but I had to be comfy for work that day too. I'm also wearing my new Aldo wedges which are awesome! They aren't as high a heel as I would like, but other than that they're perfect!
Tomorrow is my birthday party!! My birthday is actually on Saturday, but tomorrow night me and my girlfriends and parents have the balcony table reserved at Sassafraz for a little dinner party then we're heading to the newly opened London Tap House in Toronto to meet up with more of our group of friends. If you live in Toronto, come by tomorrow night! It should be a very very good evening. I will definitely take pictures of it all and post them soon!
Love! xx

double diamond fishnet

Something about American Apparel product names is just so appealing, hence the recent blog titles. Tonight I'm home after a very long day at work eating egg noodles and watching Pineapple Express. Heaven.
These are from the best day ever yesterday:
Downtown vintage sale event, picked up some amazing pieces, especially a great denim vest and some very Tallulah-like leopard print high waisted cutoffs. Then to Cafe Crepe on Queen St. for a sugar fill. Walked around Queen picking up some Givenchy inspired wedges from Aldo, and an incredible studded blazer at Zara that even the security guard thought was rad. Then to Black Market for the 10 dollar sale where I found an acid wash denim jacket, some vintage t's and moreee denim cutoffs. Like I said, best day ever.
Wearing diy shorts, H&M Aids Awareness crop top, Shades of Greige cardigan and H&M blazer, and my new Miu Miu sunnies. I remember loving these a few seasons ago and magically found them on sale last week. I died.
Hope everyone had a great weekend too! xx
